Terms of Service

By creating an account or playing GenFable (“the game”, “the service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country (and at least 13). We may update these terms from time to time; continued play after a change means you accept the new version.

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens under your account. One person, one account, one character — don't share credentials, sell accounts, or register on someone else's behalf. Provide a real email so we can reach you about your account and verify it when asked.

This is a shared world. Treat other travellers and the operators with respect. The following are strictly forbidden and will result in action against your account, up to and including a permanent ban without warning or refund:

• Cheating & exploits — abusing bugs, duplicating items or gold, botting, automating play, scripting the client, or using any tool that gives an unfair advantage.
• Hacking & tampering — attempting to access, probe, or interfere with our servers, other accounts, the game engine, or its database; reverse-engineering or circumventing security or the turn system.
• Abuse & harassment — harassing, threatening, bullying, doxxing, impersonating, or targeting other players or staff.
• Hateful, illegal, or harmful content — hate speech, sexual content involving minors, incitement to violence, or anything unlawful, in names, messages, rumours, or any text you submit.
• Spam & scams — flooding, advertising, phishing, real-money trading of in-game items or accounts, or fraud of any kind.
• Attacking the service — denial-of-service attempts, mass account creation, or overloading the world.

We enforce these at our sole discretion. A serious violation can end your access immediately.

GenFable's tales are told by an AI narrator. AI-generated text can be unexpected, inaccurate, or fictional — it is entertainment, not fact, advice, or a statement by us. The engine, not the AI, decides what actually happens in the world; the narrator only describes the real outcome. Don't rely on anything the narrator says as real-world guidance.

Don't attempt to manipulate the AI into producing prohibited content, and don't try to use prompts to break the game's rules — such attempts are treated as violations of Section 3. Text you submit may be processed by third-party AI providers to generate narration.

GenFable is a live, operator-run service. To keep it healthy, fair, and fun, we reserve the right, at any time and at our sole discretion, to:

• Remove or reset any character, item, gold, or progress — with or without reason or notice.
• Wipe or reset the entire world — including all characters, inventories, quests, rankings, and history — whenever we see fit (for example after a season, a major update, or a balance change).
• Suspend, restrict, or permanently ban any account.
• Change, limit, or discontinue any part of the game — features, content, turn limits, tiers, or the service as a whole.

In-game items, gold, characters, ranks, and progress are not your property, have no real-world value, and are not refundable. You have no ownership claim to anything within the world. Where required by law, this does not affect any statutory rights you may have regarding paid purchases.

You keep ownership of the text you write (character names, messages, rumours). By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process it as needed to run the game — including feeding it to the engine and AI narrator and showing it to other players. You're responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it.

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate — a warning, content removal, feature restriction, character deletion, or a permanent ban — without prior notice. A permanent ban may be applied at our discretion and need not be explained. You may stop playing and delete your account at any time from your Settings.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any progress will be preserved. Play at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of characters, items, progress, or data arising from your use of the service. GenFable is a game; nothing in it carries real-world value.
