Delete your account

How to permanently delete your GenFable account and your character in the Greenwood of Elaris — what goes, what stays, and how long it takes.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in at https://genfable.com/login — the same account you use in the app.
  2. Open Profile (in the menu, top left).
  3. Under Delete account, enter your password and request deletion.
  4. We email you a confirmation link. Open it and press the final confirm button.
  5. Your account and character are deleted immediately and you are signed out.

The email step is deliberate — it means nobody who borrows your unlocked device can erase years of play in one click.

If you cannot sign in

Reset your password from the forgotten password page, then follow the steps above. If you signed up with Google or Discord and no longer have that account, write to us from the contact page using the address your account is registered to, and we'll delete it for you.

What is deleted

  • Your login — email address, password, and sign-in details.
  • Your character, and everything hanging from it: inventory and equipment, gold, quest progress, faction standing, duel record and rating, and your play transcript.
  • Messages and rumours you left with the folk of the Greenwood.
  • Any outstanding verification, password-reset or deletion links.

What is kept, and for how long

  • The world's shared history. An event line in another player's chronicle may still name your character (“a traveller slew the troll at Thornwatch”). It keeps the name only — nothing links it to you, your email, or any account.
  • Security and activity logs, which record that a deletion happened. These are size-bounded and rotate on their own, so entries fade as new ones arrive.
  • Backups. Deleted data can persist in routine backups until those are replaced — within 30 days at the outside. It is never restored into the live world.

Full detail is in our Privacy Policy. Questions about deletion? Write to us.
